My name is Ila Namburi, and I am a passionate student deeply interested in the intersection of theatre, psychology, and neuroscience at Crystal Springs Uplands School in the SF Bay Area. As a leader and advocate in my performing arts program, as well as a participant in the Broadway Artists Alliance, the National Dance Institute, Columbia Neurobiology of Memory and Learning, and Ithaca College Musical Theatre Intensive, I founded The Arts in Mind Project as I aim to investigate the neurological benefits of the performing arts to strengthen empathy and social health in my community.

  • Founder

My name is Kaiya Brooks, and I am a student at Crystal Springs Uplands School in the Bay Area. I am interested in the integration of music with child neuro-development, rehabilitation from traumatic brain injury, dementia, psychology, and social/emotional connection. My passion for jazz piano has grown through participation in the Stanford Jazz Workshop, California Jazz Conservatory, and Next Generation Women in Jazz Combo.  I hope to use music as a way of connecting to the people around me and am excited to explore its neuroscience benefits.
